Being underestimated is unpleasant, and it is an advantage. Both things are true and you will need to hold them at the same time.
The unpleasantness is real. You work harder for the same credit and you are asked to prove things that others are simply granted.
The advantage is that nobody is watching, and almost everything worth building is built in the period before anyone is watching.
Use it while you have it. It does not last, and you will miss the quiet.
