I encourage you all to read it. Whoever you are, reading this book will transform your life. When I read it, I called Dr. Obara to run a workshop for about two hundred of our pastors and this helped us to Leap Forward.

Bishop Dr. Alois A. Rutivi · International Missionary, Church Planter and Pastoral Overseer

I truly consider this a masterpiece. From Leap Forward, I derive the impetus to excel. Reading the book feels as compelling and engaging as talking to Andrew the author who I know very well and admire.

Jimmy Byaruhanga · SME and Project Management Consultant

Reading this book felt like having a personal mentor walking beside me, sharing stories, lessons and practical wisdom that are both relatable and motivating. What makes it truly powerful is how it blends personal experience with universal principles, encouraging readers to cultivate their ‘inner garden’ and take ownership of their growth.

Amanda Davis · Literary Consultant

The book Leap Forward is so good and touching that after reading it, I bought a copy for my husband and each of my grown-up children; they are all enjoying it.

Klaudia Beger · Programme Coordinator, Inclusive Finance, European Investment Bank

Excellent book for personal development and motivation for career success, presented as could only be done by the ever-witty Andrew Obara.

Kintu Mutesasira · Executive Director, Rapid Advisory & Rapid Finance Ltd

I read this book and it completely revolutionized how I think. I gave it to my mother insisting that she should read. Once she started, she finished reading it in two weeks and then I gave it to my brother who can hardly put the book down after starting to read. The personal advice, spiritual value and great wisdom in Dr. Obara’s book just amazes me.

Sydney Wangolo · Accounting Student, Makerere University Business School

… I have successfully finished reading the whole book without missing a single chapter, single word, or even a full stop… the whole book from the beginning to the end was vivacious to me… Thank you for Leaping Forward and writing this motivation that has surely captured my soul and helped me understand the vital things in life…

About the book

About the book

Leap Forward was written for people who probably feel they never need it. Its purpose is to convince the reader — whoever and wherever they are — that it is possible to rise up, do better and excel. With evidence from real life and the author's own story, it argues that the trap of daily painful existence, in which we blame circumstances and the people around us, can be overcome.

The book's central image is a garden. Left alone, a garden brings out only useless weeds. Ploughed, sown, weeded and cared for, it teems with crops that feed us. Personal destiny, cultivated by personal thought, works the same way. Andrew draws on history, science, business, academia and the lives of scores of people across hundreds of years to demonstrate the human being's stubborn power to get better.

The chapters urge the reader in turn to leap forward and get better, use their God-given inner power, pursue excellence, avoid mediocrity, accept their own uniqueness, dedicate themselves to service, and always take heart — because the world seldom cheers excellence. The final chapter is a series of personal letters to people in different situations in life, among which every reader will find one written for them.

Spiced with easy, witty poems and scores of true stories.
